USA Soccer reminded us what it feels like to root for the same thing together
I'll be honest, I'm not a die-hard soccer fan these days. I did play in high school and had a chance to cheer on England during my years in Europe, but something happened during this World Cup run that I didn't expect. I found myself actually caring, checking scores, talking about it with people I barely know, and feeling genuinely proud when the team held its own on the world stage. That doesn't happen all the time in this country right now. We're pretty good at finding reasons to disagree. So when something comes along that just lets people be on the same side for a little while, I think that's worth pausing on. It's a clear reminder that we're capable of it. The team played hard, played with heart, and gave us something real to cheer about. I'm grateful for that. Who did you watch the games with, and did it pull in anyone around you who wasn't really a soccer fan before this?
